Today, after 22 years of patronage, CC finally ran out of legacy credit with me. For over a decade, it was a reliable source for affordable, tasty, unpretentious food. It has now been a shell of it's former self for years, barely trying, cashing in on local good will and nostalgia and today was the last straw. I went at eleven hoping to avoid the lukewarm food I often struggle through but alas, the food was COLD. Not lukewarm. COLD. And slooped together on the same plate so juice from my greens was mixing with my sweet potatoes. Took one bite, politely asked if I could leave, and then did so. That will be my last experience at CC. Another Nashville institution lost to apathy...

It’s so sad to see a place I used to love fall apart. First, as soon as we walked in, the look on the servers face made us feel unwelcome, he was clearly waiting for his shift to end. Second, they just need to take the Island Burger off of the menu, they’ve been out of them the last 3 times I’ve tried to order one so I settled for a chicken breast sandwhich that left me spitting out bones of the tasteless sandwhich. Lastly, the tables and chairs had food on them and everything felt sticky to the touch. I really miss the old Calypso Cafe, my experience today left me never wanting to come back. Another Nashville staple has lost it’s way.

The food is what brings me there! Love the loaded black bean nachos 😋. The service is always nice, friendly and prompt. The atmosphere is laid back and comfortable and if they locate one nearer to me in the Antioch area I will be one of their best customers 😉

We really miss having a location in Franklin. But whenever we're nearby 100 Oaks we always stop here. Excellent chicken, but wow the bean and corn salad, corn muffins, and black beans! Oh my! The place itself and the people are very no-nonsense; resin chairs and basic tables. But very comfortable and delicious. Also, fruit tea is a must.

The best of the Calypso franchise I think. Being a vegetarian there're few options for restaurants where I don't have to hunt through a several-page menu to locate something, and Calypso is one of these options. I'll take off a star for it not getting any tastier. It's as tasty today as it was three years ago, which is not particularly a bad thing, but it feels like at this point it should be wildly good as opposed to just "daaaang" They've recently expanded their hours

They’ve been around for a long time and now how to make some really good Caribbean food. My favorite go to is their loaded black beans nachos. Their staff is really great at what they do along with getting the food to your table in a good amount of time. The atmosphere feels like you’re in the Caribbean and the music is really laid back and chill. You get more bang for your buck on your food. I highly recommend this place for anyone who wants to get away from the drive thru and fast food places.
